EFCC interrogates former Kebbi Governor’s wife, Zainab Dakingari over allegation of N2billion fraud
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Tuesday interrogated the wife of a former Governor of Kebbi State, Mrs. Zainab Dakingari.
Dakingari was quizzed in relation with N2billion Naira Kebbi State funds.
The commission was, however, silent on the details of the interrogation.
She arrived at the EFCC headquarters at Wuse, Abuja, at about 1pm and left after three hours.
Operatives of the Economic Governance Unit of the EFCC handling her case were said to have asked her to go because “she was not feeling too well.”
The former Kebbi First Lady, who is also the daughter of former President Umaru Yar’Adua, is expected to visit the commission again for a continuation of the session on Wednesday.
Mrs. Dakingari had visited the EFCC on July 22, 2015 but was released to go without interrogation because of ill health.
It was further learnt that she again honored the EFCC invitation even though she had not recovered.
Those handling her case were said to have cut short the planned interrogation with her after three hours, asking her to return on Wednesday.
A source at the commission said, “Today, Mrs. Dakingari visited the EFCC for the postponed interrogation over the N2 billion Kebbi State funds. I can’t give you the details.

“She arrived at the commission by 1pm and left by 4pm. You know the last time she came on July 22, she was asked to go because she was not feeling too well.
“Even though she came today, the woman is still not feeling too well so she was again asked to go after three hours.
“She will come again tomorrow.”
