Newcastle’s Jonas Gutierrez has been given the all-clear following his battle against testicular cancer.
The 31-year-old revealed n September that he was undergoing chemotherapy in his native Argentina after having an operation to remove his left testicle.
He took to Twitter on Monday evening to confirm he has been given the all-clear.
His last appearance for the Canaries was back in April.
Welcoming the news of his discharge, Newcastle tweeted: “Everyone at #NUFC is delighted to share the news that @elgalgojonas has been discharged from hospital in Argentina #UnitedWithJonas”.

“Today I was given a medical discharge,” he wrote in Spanish.Gutierrez joined Newcastle from Spanish side Mallorca in July 2008 on a five-year contract, but he spent the second half of last season on loan with Norwich.
“Thank you very much to all who accompanied me at this time, especially my family, my parents, brothers, godmother, friends and (partner) Alejandra Maglietti.”
His last appearance for the Canaries was back in April.
