Police uncovers training ground for kidnappers in Abia
Abia state police command Thursday said that it has taken proactive measures to checkmate resurgence of kidnapping in the state following the discovery of a compound in Umuokeyi village Obingwa local government where kidnappers were allegedly being trained.
State commissioner of police, Mr. Adamu Ibrahim made this known at a press briefing on the achievements of the command to combat crime in the past one month.
He said that the kidnappers in training numbering 37 persons were arrested at Ugoji compound along Bible College Road Umuokeyi, Obingwa.
“Kidnapping is trying to return to Abia but we are mounting surveillance,” he said, adding that the state police command was committed to ensuring that crime was reduced to the barest minimum in Abia.
