Manchester United winger Nani ruled out with hamstring injury
Nani has joined the growing list of injury concerns for Manchester United with the winger set to miss a ‘few weeks’ with a hamstring problem.
Nani has not feature for United since the defeat to Newcastle and he will miss the busy Christmas and New Year schedule when the Red Devils face Hull, Norwich and Tottenham in the Premier League.
“Nani has got a hamstring injury and we were worried about that. It’s worse than we hoped so that might well keep him out for a few weeks,” manager David Moyes confirmed at his pre-match press conference.
United are already without Robin van Persie and Michael Carrick, but there is a chance Wayne Rooney could return for Saturday’s clash with West Ham.
Rooney missed the midweek Capital One Cup win at Stoke City with a groin injury, raising fears that he was set for a spell on the sidelines, but Moyes is hopeful he will feature against the Hammers.

“Wayne has got a chance. So we will see how he is tomorrow,” Moyes added. The injuries have given the fringe players the chance to stake their claim and Moyes is delighted with how they have responded.
“The players have done really well. That is why there is such a good squad and a big squad here because throughout the season, the amount of games we have to play here, you do need those extra players,” Moyes explained.
“We have seen recently, in the last couple of games, we have been a little bit short in areas but the players who have come in have done brilliantly well. We have needed the whole squad, we really have. Even bringing Darren Fletcher back into it as well has given everybody a lift. But not only that, for Darren to get a couple of games and come back into the team is great.”
