Roberto Mancini confirmed as Galatasaray manager
Roberto Mancini has been confirmed as the new manager of Turkish giants Galatasaray.
Manchester City sacked Mancini at the tail end of last season after losing the FA Cup final against Wigan in a shock result.
Now, having taken over the helm at Galatasaray, his first match in charge will be back in his homeland of Italy in a Champions League tie against Juventus.
The Italian side captured striker Carlos Tevez from City in the summer, after a protracted saga during Tevez's time in England under Mancini.
The pair regularly fell out, culminating in Tevez going on strike during the 2011-12 season, before being coaxed back into the set-up and helping fire City to the title.
However, Tevez could well be out of Wednesday's Champions League tie with a foot injury, while Mancini could hand over the reigns so soon after taking the helm.
