Manchester United eyes Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric
Manchester United manager David Moyes is reported to be weighing up a move for Luka Modric having failed in his attempts to sign Cesc Fabregas.
The Spaniard was the subject of two failed bids by United and ended all hope the Scot had of signing him by announcing during the week his desire to remain at the Nou Camp.
Desperate to add quality to an area of his squad which is relatively weak, Moyes has now turned his attention to Modric.
The Croat moved to Madrid from Spurs in a £33million deal last summer but failed to feature regularly under former Real manager Jose Mourinho and having added Isco and Asier Illarramendi to his squad this summer, and the possibility of Gareth Bale also joining in a world record deal, new boss Carlo Ancelotta could be prepared to let Modric move on.
A fee of £25million is considered the minimum that the English champions would need to part with to secure the services of the 27-year-old.
