FG keen on dialogue with Boko Haram
The federal government on Tuesday maintained that dialogue with the Boko Haram terror group, Boko Haram continues.
Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Dialogue and Peaceful Resolution of Security Challenges in the North and Minister of Special Duties, Tanimu Turaki told State House Correspondents that his committee has got a two month extention by the president within which to accomplish its task.
He called on Nigerians to be patient with the committee blaming the recent attacks in Kano on a segment he referred to as “fifth columnists” who will do anything to scuttle the sincere efforts of the federal government.
This is coming despite the recent attacks that claimed several lives in Kano state.
Dialogue is a welcome idea; questions is - How do you dialogue/negotiate with a 'faceless' and extremely violent group?
