Everton manager Roberto Martinez eyes Chelsea forward Victor Moses
New Everton manager Roberto Martinez is considering a £10million move for Chelsea forward Victor Moses.
Martinez was a key influence in developing Moses’ career at Wigan and likes his ability to play anywhere along the front line.
The Goodison chief believes his former Wigan striker – sold to Chelsea for £9million – may be up for grabs with the arrival of Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.
With Romelu Lukaku heading back to Chelsea after an eye-catching loan year at West Brom, Moses could be squeezed out despite playing a role last season.
Martinez has also hinted he could go back to raid his old club Wigan, with midfielders James McCarthy, former Evertonian Callum McManaman, James McArthur, Spanish defender Ivan Ramis, and striker Aroune Kone all possible targets.
Top choice would be midfield play-maker McCarthy – valued at around £14m by Wigan chairman Dave Whelan – who has also caught the eye of Arsenal, Liverpool, Aston Villa and West Ham.
