Manchester City and Arsenal in race to sign £10m-rated AZ Alkmaar prospect Adam Maher

Manchester City have joined Arsenal by showing interest in AZ Alkmaar’s Adam Maher.

The Holland midfielder, 19, is valued at £10m and expects to leave the club at the end of the season.

City's director of football Txiki Begiristain has held talks with the playmaker and asked him to attend a game at the Etihad.

With Samir Nasri linked with a move away from City, Maher could fill his boots if he decides to switch.

Tottenham were previously interested in the Dutchman and scouted him on international duty.
