"Chelsea manager's job is EASY" - Avram Grant
Avram Grant has added to the growing pressure on Rafa Benitez by declaring that the Chelsea manager's job is an easy one.
Sacked by the club in May 2008 after succeeding Jose Mourinho just eight months earlier, Grant regardless believes Chelsea should be challenging for the Premier league title and are also suffering as a result of their early elimination from the Champions League.
'I don’t think Rafa Benitez will be replaced any time soon,' Grant told The Sun. 'But, let me tell you something, coaching at Chelsea is very easy.
'It’s way easier than coaching West Ham, for instance, because you have a very big budget and top players to choose from. All you have to do is go after the win.
'Things aren’t going well at Chelsea. They have made huge investments but the mood there is not good.
'They can’t be happy when they are not challenging for the league.
'They don’t like being in the Europa League and their players are not dreaming about being in that final.
'Their motivation would have been much greater in the Champions League.'
Despite being relegated with both Portsmouth and West Ham since his time at Chelsea, Grant is thought to be among those under consideration to replace Benitez in the summer when the interim manager's role at the club comes to an end.
