QPR striker Bobby Zamora out for the season with hip injury
Mark Hughes' nightmare season could be about to get even worse with the news that Bobby Zamora may be out for the majority of the season.
The QPR striker, who is recognised as Hughes' first choice centre-forward, is struggling with a hip problem that caused him to miss Saturday's disastrous defeat against Southampton.
The Rangers medical team are monitoring the injury but initial fears are that the ex-England striker will need an operation.
Club staff will continue to keep a close eye on the injury and if the situation deteriorates, then Zamora will have surgery.
If it emerges Zamora does need to go under the knife, he is expected to miss the majority of the season.
Zamora's plight is yet another damaging blow for Hughes, who has been left fighting for his job after 12 Premier League games without a win.
