Chelsea defender Ryan Bertrand in trouble with FA over twitter rants
Ryan Bertrand is to receive an FA ear-bashing after becoming the latest Chelsea star to let rip on Twitter.
Just 24 hours after FA bosses revealed a code of conduct for England stars, Bertrand rowed with fans after withdrawing from tonight’s squad for the San Marino game with a virus.
He had been suffering with a sore throat before he started to feel unwell.
It followed a rant from Blues team-mate Ashley Cole, who last week branded the FA a “bunch of t**ts”.
Bertrand tweeted: “Just to clarify.... Its not a ‘sore throat’ Im ill. swollen glands in my neck... constant headache for 3 days now and freezin cold. Do you think a ‘sore throat’ could stop me being apart of a match for my club or country? #yourf******nuts this is what every boy dreams of.”
Bertrand, 23, deleted the hashtag and apologised but will be warned over his future conduct.
Yesterday, Cole admitted a charge of improper conduct.
