Housewife beats househelp to death in Lagos!

A housewife identified as Iya Anu was, on Sunday, arrested by the police in Lagos for allegedly killing her ward.

She allegedly beat her ward, Sebo, who was also her brother-in-law's son, to death with a stick after accusing him of stealing N1,000.

The suspect, a resident of 8, Amosun Street, Ashafa area of Ijegun, Lagos, was mobbed by irate residents after she attempted to deposit the deceased's corpse at Mercyland Hospital in the area.

Sebo's death caused outrage in the area, and some community members beat the suspected child killer unconscious before taking her to the Isheri-Oshun Police Station.

The deceased, according to neighbours, had been living with the suspect since his father's death. Some of the suspect's neighbours also accused her of maltreating Sebo in the past.

A police officer attached to the station, who requested anonymity, confirmed that the incident was under investigation.
